Take me there Tuesday: To the black sand beach at Waianapanapa

The black sand beach at Waianapanapa is a short diversion off Maui’s winding road to Hana. It’s one of the must-see stops that we include in our road to Hana advice.

When do flowers bloom in Hawaii?

Hawaii’s weather is summer-like all through the year. Even during the “chilliest” months of January and February, daytime highs average in the upper 70s or lower 80s in Fahrenheit. (That translates to around 26/27 degrees Celsius.) With this lovely warm weather, the Hawaiian Islands make a great home for tropical flowers to bloom all through the year.

All-inclusive resorts in Hawaii

We’ve recently had an uptick in people asking for recommendations for all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii. “Can you recommend an all-inclusive hotel on <insert Hawaiian island>?” — is the typical question. The answer that Hawaii doesn’t have true all-inclusive resorts like many resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.

The closest resort to having an all-inclusive package is Travaasa Hana on Maui. They  have an “inclusive” package, but it’s not all-inclusive like you’d find in Mexico or the Caribbean.
