The start of the Maui Marathon on Sunday was delayed by a traffic accident just after 5 a.m. at the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, where the race begins.

Hunter, Crouse win Maui Marathon titles

KAANAPALI - Reid Hunter, a King Kekaulike High School graduate, won the Maui Marathon this morning in 2 hours, 50 minutes, 57 seconds. Malia Crouse, a Seabury Hall graduate who now lives in Denver, Colo., won the women's title in 3:01.

Kahului record high temp smashes old mark

A record high of 95 degrees was set at Kahului Airport on Saturday, smashing the old record by three degrees, the National Weather Service reported. The previous record of 92 degrees for the date had been set Sept. 20, 1996, officials said.
