A 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded southwest of Molokai early Friday morning, which was felt by some Maui County residents, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory on the Big Island.

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was reported at 2:37 a.m. Friday in the "deep ocean" southwest of Lanai, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach on Oahu. There is no tsunami expected.
